The ALS 12v Double 6w LED Lepidopterist
12V Double 6w LED Lepidopterist Moth Trap
12V Double 6W LED Lepidopterist Moth Trap
Up to 14 hours of moth recording from a compact 16Ah lithium battery (battery available separately).
Battery-operated moth traps are becoming increasingly popular for recording moths away from the garden, offering a lightweight, economical and convenient alternative to traditional generators, which are heavy, expensive and require fuel.
Our battery-operated moth traps have been supplied worldwide and are particularly popular for fieldwork and moth surveys.
Similar to the Compact Skinner Moth Trap but has the added advantage of two LED bulbs.
The complete trap folds flat and can easily be transported a carry bag (MS23/MS24) together with a suitable battery.
Despite its low power consumption, the double 6W LED produces catch rates comparable to our double 12V 20W actinic traps. See our comparison graph for further details.
Features and Specifications
Lightweight and durable: Manufactured from robust polypropylene.
Compact and portable: Quick and easy to assemble, with a fully flat-pack design for convenient transport and storage.

Low power consumption: Operates for approximately 12–14 hours from our 16Ah lithium battery, depending on ambient temperature and operating conditions.
Ideal for fieldwork: Easily carried in a carry bag, together with a suitable battery.
