We purchased two of these traps for our growing band of volunteer moth recorders to use. Light, very portable, easy to put together and to take apart, and suitably sturdy, they fit the bill for us exactly. We tested one out on the day it arrived (10th January 2018) and were pleased to have three species of moths to the trap: Hebrew Character, Mottled Umber & Winter Moth. The Hebrew Character was the earliest record that we have had for this species. A great little trap offering very good value for money.

What a superb little trap! Easy and quick to assemble, easy and light to carry, pulls in the moths and retains them as well as any other Skinner trap. As with other Skinner traps it is great to see what's in it and you can inspect the catch as many times as you like during the night, most nights it has done better for numbers than the twin 60W actinic. So, in my opinion, it is not only the perfect starter's trap but it is also a more than useful addition to the experienced trapper's armoury!

I thought you might be interested to know I deployed the Compact Skinner trap on Monday 16th April for the first time. While I had some assistance with ID’s I was bowled over with initial results. Very happy indeed. I can foresee many early mornings to come.

Tried my new little Skinner Trap out last night, excellent! Held it's own against more powerful neighbouring traps, catch included Lime and Elephant Hawk, good variety and quantity, well pleased!
Bob Gooding, Essex.

Moth trap arrived, set it up last night, and this morning, it was amazing, its like a whole different world, what is flying around at night, I estimate 100-150 moths.
