Our Professional Robinson Moth Trap is a top of the range trap made from polypropylene. The units will stack inside one another for maximum portability. They have a better holding capacity than the Skinner Moth Trap. Supplied complete with 125w MV electrics and rain guard. 60cm diameter (at widest point), 2mm thick clear collar for extra durability with internal drainage holes and gauze covering.

As used by Nick Baker on BBC2 Springwatch Guide to Butterflies and Moths Live July 2013

We also offer a special edition white version we have named ‘ty gwyfyn’ (Welsh for moth trap [lit. ‘moth-house]) for that celebratory occasion such as birthdays, retirement or even a unique wedding gift (some recorders believe all white traps have a better catch potential). The deep based Robinson Trap is good for high catches in areas with high moth densities, available as a complete trap or just the base to swap with existing trap and also a cheaper model called the Economy Robinson Trap which uses the same successful 125w MV electronics and cone with rain guard as the Professional Robinson Trap but is 50cm diameter at widest point then rather than a clear collar this model has a black collar that is welded in place making it very durable.

This moth trap is Mains only (not suitable for a battery) - provided with a 5 metre cable and 3-pin plug

WOW what a trap over the years I had three Robinsons. This trap is better , much better. Real quality, more Robust, better bulb protection. Really great trap. As you can probably tell well chuffed.
Barry Hunt, Kent.

"The best ever commercial Robinson Trap I have ever seen" Colin Pratt, Sussex county moth recorder.

I've recently been using your Robinson 125W trap, quite the best trap I have ever used in 40 years since I started light trapping with a butane lantern and sheet in Hatfield Forest. Andrew Magnay, Staffordshire.

A further testament to the design of your Robinson Trap......the night of 22nd June we had 23mm of rain driven by a wind that woke me on a number of occasions, because of, and only because of National Moth Night I had the trap on. I fully expected it to cost me a bulb which it didn't, further to that the egg boxes inside were all bone dry. Well done, Nick Candlish, Ayr.

Robinson Trap duly received and already shining away in the garden, it really is an excellent bit of kit, far and away the best trap I've ever owned. Steve Bardel, London

Buying the Robinson Trap, the Concise Guide To Moths book and specimen tubes as a package has given me everything I needed to rekindle my childhood passion for moths. Julian Williams, Pembrokeshire
